December 2005

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

So I started the month off by running a half marathon (13.1 miles), and as if that wasn't enough, I found an open treadmill later on at the gym and ran an additional six! Yes, I know - insane...21 MILES in one day! And just a couple of months prior I was grinning when I could run 10. Amazing.

'Tis the holiday season. It crept up on us so quickly, but fortunately I stuck to my promise of doing all of my shopping prior to midnight on December 24th, so at 2pm on Dec 24th shopping was kinda crazy but not as intense ;-)

I took a mini-break from shoots, did squeez in a trade show though, but primarily kept the month available to spend time with family and friends. It felt good to rekindle with loved ones and reflect on this past year.

Here's to the New Year!

Cheers,
Chantal :)

November 2005

Almost year-end - WOW!

Trade show work can be fun, so let's just say that I started this month off on a fun-filled note.
A week later, I found myself in this magnificent home on the New Symrna intercoastal working on a Boston Whaler commercial. They actually cut the boat in half for the shoot, so now I can say I've seen half a boat still float on water!! Pretty impressive.

In-between the shooting came fundraising for the marathon. Dang, I still can't believe I've signed up to run this race! We held a car wash at a local gas station and waved down cars in our bikinis...haha, and suprisingly enough, we ended up doing really well!

I also found myself on-set in Tampa shooting an industrial video for Firefighters and Paramedics. Guess which role? The lead terrorist :-) Nobody believes me when I tell them...haha! I guess that's where the acting comes in. So, if you're a firefighter in training, look out for the messy girl with the bandana and torn shirt in the video! If you're not a firefighter, then I guess you'll just have to wait to see me in a bandana and a torn shirt...

Adios ;)

October 2005

Time keeps on ticking, keeps on ticking (sing it)!
What a month so far - I feel so incredibly blessed!

Soo okay, listen to this...a few weeks ago I book a commercial for Bayfront Medical Center in St. Pete, and so I'm looking all purr-ty on set and the ad agency decides they'd like to use me for their print ads as well :) Woohoo! Quite an unexpected bonus! So needless to say, if you see the ads in the paper or local mags, keep it purr-ty please and let me know...(coz it's not always easy to get tearsheets).

And about the infomercial that I had the opportunity of hosting a couple of weeks ago - we really were treated like ROYALTY (celebrity treatment would be an understatement, I tell ya). The infomercial for the book, "How to Raise Millionaire Children" will begin airing in South Florida, and I'll keep you in the loop as it makes its way to other markets. It is a GREAT book - highly recommendable btw, so if you'd like a few extra thousand dollar bills lining your pockets, CLICK HERE!

Film-wise, recently landed a supporting role in an indie feature length comedy titled "Now Hiring", which is currently in pre-production.

And in other exciting news...drum roll please :) J/K!
I feel honored to announce that I'll be going on tour as the spokesmodel and host for an up-and-coming talented musician. The first show will take the stage in MA, and will air on a PBS special this winter! More info and details to come...

As for the marathon training, I ran my first 10K this past weekend in 51:40. It was lots of fun - I was soooo pumped up at 5am, that if it was any earlier in the morning, you would've thought I'd been out drinking all night long! Can you believe we're up to 10 MILES on the long runs? Holy smokes! I still haven't digested that number.

Happy Halloween!!! :-)

xoxo

September 2005

Howdy again!

Okay, so these video auditions seem to be working out well! :-) I just booked another job as a host for an infomercial. Shooting is scheduled to take place first week of October in South Florida. I get to fly down to South Beach and party with the stars. Not a bad deal :-) More info on the author and the air-times to come!

Will keep you posted!

August 2005

August crept up on me and raced away leaving deeply embedded skid marks before I could catch my breath to write and update you. Nevertheless, the very patient, subdued reader which you are didn't mind at all :-) and I sincerely appreciate that!

Somewhere between the 1st and the 5th of the month, I made a personal commitment to reach out more, and to help those who are terminally ill and battling blood cancers. It truly is in giving that we receive, and that's a HUGE discovery once it finally clicks inside - a light goes off, and everything around you is so much brighter! So, I am raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by running a marathon in January! Yeah, the whole 26.2 miles! Woohoo :-) If you would like to donate and help towards this worthy cause, please CLICK HERE I really appreciate your support!

Now if you're an actor or you're in the business, you know the grueling process that it can take to land one role...but you never really hear about that part :-) so I would like to share one with you. This month I had the amazing opportunity of auditioning for the lead in a national theater show. I sent a tape up north; it was reviewed and I got a call from the director asking for another tape. It was such an honor for me to be speaking to this guy because I've only ever seen his name on the big screen, and I really love the work he does. Anyway, he gave me some pointers, I followed them and sent up another tape. Lo' and behold, I received another call a few days later! and he said that it was between me and one other candidate. Cut a long story short, various factors came into play and I did not end up signing the dotted line, but I'm sure a very beautiful, talented young woman did. The beauty in it all though, is that I may have the opportunity to join the team later on. It all rests in God's hands!

This month I also dabbled in some behind-the-scenes work and ended up script supervising a Microsoft video shoot! It was very relaxing, I must say :-) and a great experience. And I dealt some Texas-holden! Yeah, at the Product Design Show decked out in my 'dealer' outfit! And to top off, I worked the annual Premier Beauty Show in Orlando. It's always fun.

And no telling who will be carrying a wand in a fairy outfit for Halloween...

July 2005

So, in an effort to keep you up-to-date with my unpredictable schedule :-) I have created a blog where I'll frequently post updates to keep you posted with the happenings of my career. This month has been busy!

June allowed for shooting an episode of Dr. G Medical Examiner, an episodic television series which airs weekly on the Discovery Health Channel (will let you know when to tune in!), a booking at the Clean Show and the International Bowl Expo, and a week-long Anhueser-Busch event which I coordinated for the Orlando market.

"Safety Match", a low-budget independent feature film, is now in post-production. I played the male lead's best girl FRIEND :) Will keep you posted...

And we are in pre-production on a short film titled, "Hurdles" where I play a high school snob...haha! Shooting is scheduled to take place end of July!

Let's see...I'll be out promoting at Daytona 500, so if you're a race fan, look out for me!! Yeah right, you'll spot little missis here among the thousands of people!

Then I'm off to South Beach for a few days :) No work, just play! And then back to work...I'll be flying out to Canada early next week for another booking! It should be fun...never been up there! Only thing is I doubt I'm going to have time to go sight-seeing. Oh well...hopefully there'll be other times!

I'll be back with more exciting updates!

Signing out ;-)
